I made this Halloween Tic Tac Toe Board from Dollar Tree rub on transfers, a bag of rocks from Hobby Lobby and a wood tic tac toe board, also from Hobby Lobby.
There are really no tricks or tips to this project that I can share because it is very self explanatory.
I painted the board gray. Picked out the rocks from the bag that best fit the shape of the two transfer images I chose. Painted half black and half white then applied the transfers using a spoon. One of the sheets had the "Trick or Treat" wording which fit perfect in the bottom right square.
Side Note: I actually prefer that the image varies in sizes. It gives it more interest and does not look machine made. In fact, if I were painting these from scratch I would have done them in varying sizes so Dollar Tree read my mind!
I then used a ruler to make the lines on the board although the board already comes with the grooves. I used my DecoColor white paint pen for this step.
I took the photo before I sealed them but I used DecoArt Triple Thick glaze on the rocks to seal in the transfers.
This turned out really cute for a few dollars and its something you can leave on your coffee table during the month of October.
Happy Halloween Crafting!

Halloween Recycled Paint Can

I repurposed this empty paint can into a Halloween decor piece and I am really happy with it. It can be used as a candy bin for Halloween night or to put Mums on your front porch the entire month of October. I had seen this ghost pattern on several Halloween decor pieces last year at Marshalls and fell in love with it. I love a repeat pattern so I had to try it and I knew it would be fairly easy to duplicate as you will see in my pics. I would say not to worry about messing up because in the end it will still look adorable. As you can see, my ghosts look completely different than the throw blanket photo I included which I used for reference. The jack-o-lantern in the background is another paint can I did and that one was done by masking out an area with a Cricut vinyl cutout , using crackle medium, then pulling off the sticker. I included a few photos of this one too. Once my paint can was empty I set it out in the driveway to dry up the rem...
Decorative Halloween Wall Mirrors
By

I typically don't decorate for Halloween (since my kids were young) but I like to come up with Halloween projects because there are so many options. Now, once I execute and idea I let one of my girls take it for their places. I thought these mirrors would be neat and different. In addition, they are versatile, as they can be hung on the wall or placed on a counter top. You don't have to be able to freehand draw to make these but if not, you will need carbon paper. The mirrors are from Dollar Tree. I painted one black and one white. I traced the mirror on a piece of paper. You can either draw your image or print something out from on line. After I drew my image I used the carbon paper to transfer it onto the white mirror, ensuring that it is centered. I used my black paint pen to outline the image. This makes the lines sharper than if you were to use your paint brush. I then switched to my brush to fill in the skull head. ...
