Faux Wood Pumpkin Tray

I made this Fall pumpkin tray with one sheet of Dollar Tree self adhesive wallpaper.  I found the wood tray for $3 at Michaels on clearance. First I stained the side of the wood tray and painted the center white.

I then used one of the DT wood grain adhesive sheets (they came in two slightly different wood grains) and transferred the pumpkin I drew on a piece of paper onto the back of the adhesive.  The reason I did it on paper first instead of directly on the back of the sheet is because if I wasnt happy with my drawing I could redo it without messing up the back of the adhesive sheet.

I cut out the 5 parts to the pumpkin. I removed the backing and placed the center piece on the tray, then worked out from there.

For the stem I used a piece of scrapbook paper in a different color wood grain.   I used mod podge to adhere it to the tray because it was not self adhesive.

I put two coats of Mod Podge on the entire tray to seal both papers in.  To finish it off I put a set of handles on that I had in my hardware stash and that was it.

Happy Fall Crafting!
