Inside Out Stenciled Pumpkin Votives

I used a few empty glass candle votives that I got from Hobby Lobby and turned them into pumpkin candles from the inside.  I used a stencil, glass paint and candle wax.  The stencil will need to be adhesive since the surface is concave and would not lay flush otherwise.  I used my Cricut machine to cut mine but there are self adhesive stencils at Michales and Hobby Lobby.

First I made sure to clean the inside of the glass votive so that the adhesive would stick well (although I did have a few gaps). I placed the stencil then applied the glass paint. I put two layers.   I let the paint dry overnight because I wasnt sure if the hot wax would cause the paint to melt.

I melted one of the large DT prayer candles by placing it in a pot of boing water (sorry no photos).  This one candle did about 5 votives (I did a few Christmas ones as well).

While I let the wax cool down I placed a wick inside the glass and used a bit of hot glue to keep it in place. I purchased the wicks from Hobby Lobby. I poured the wax in and let it harden .  Next I trimmed the wick and they were ready to burn (or gift)!

I did test mine by burning them down with no issues but I'm assuming that would depend on the type/brand of paint used so if you were to make these i would check whether or not the specific paint you chose was flammable.

I used white vinyl for one stencil and black for another (sorry if the pics are misleading)
