I typically don't decorate for Halloween (since my kids were young) but I like to come up with Halloween projects because there are so many options. Now, once I execute and idea I let one of my girls take it for their places. I thought these mirrors would be neat and different. In addition, they are versatile, as they can be hung on the wall or placed on a counter top. You don't have to be able to freehand draw to make these but if not, you will need carbon paper. The mirrors are from Dollar Tree. I painted one black and one white. I traced the mirror on a piece of paper. You can either draw your image or print something out from on line. After I drew my image I used the carbon paper to transfer it onto the white mirror, ensuring that it is centered. I used my black paint pen to outline the image. This makes the lines sharper than if you were to use your paint brush. I then switched to my brush to fill in the skull head. ...

I made this set of guest towels for my daughter's powder room using the Dollar Tree iron on vinyl and a set of their hand towels. They are purely decorative but can be used from year to year. She has an annual Halloween party and goes all out so these were perfect. I did use my cricut machine for this project only because the image I chose had a little more detail. You can easily replicate this with a ghost or spider by using scissors. I grabbed a set of white hand towels from Dollar Tree and a pack of their black iron-on vinyl. I also used some black and white polka dot material from my box of material. I like to use the traditional Halloween shapes and silhouettes but in a bit of a whimsical manner. I cut my set of skeleton heads on one of the iron-on sheets using my cricut machine and chose where I wanted to place it. I had actually never done iron-on prior to this so I had to read the directions on the box. I did not take photos of this pr...

I made this Fall pumpkin tray with one sheet of Dollar Tree self adhesive wallpaper. I found the wood tray for $3 at Michaels on clearance. First I stained the side of the wood tray and painted the center white. I then used one of the DT wood grain adhesive sheets (they came in two slightly different wood grains) and transferred the pumpkin I drew on a piece of paper onto the back of the adhesive. The reason I did it on paper first instead of directly on the back of the sheet is because if I wasnt happy with my drawing I could redo it without messing up the back of the adhesive sheet. I cut out the 5 parts to the pumpkin. I removed the backing and placed the center piece on the tray, then worked out from there. For the stem I used a piece of scrapbook paper in a different color wood grain. I used mod podge to adhere it to the tray because it was not self adhesive. I put two coats of Mod Podge on the entire tray to seal both papers in. To finish ...

I painted this leaf Fall pumpkin using the Dollar Tree stencil as a guide. I did go off course in he end to give it more character but that is totally personal preference because it looked just as good following the DT stencil. The plaid and the leaf pumpkin are from Target's Dollar Spot and were a terra cotta color . All of the others are cement pumpkins from Dollar Tree. First I painted the pumpkin all white. I cut the veins from the stencil in a prior project because I wanted to use only the outer shape of the leaf for that project and for this design as well. Then I used chalk to trace inside the border. After that all I did was fill in the leaf with my paint brush. I did add the name of my town with a paint pen. I did not photograph the steps of the plaid pumpkin or the polka dot pumpkins because I though these were pretty much self explanatory. I used three coordinating colors but they had no name because they were from the "oops" section...

Halloween Recycled Paint Can

I repurposed this empty paint can into a Halloween decor piece and I am really happy with it. It can be used as a candy bin for Halloween night or to put Mums on your front porch the entire month of October. I had seen this ghost pattern on several Halloween decor pieces last year at Marshalls and fell in love with it. I love a repeat pattern so I had to try it and I knew it would be fairly easy to duplicate as you will see in my pics. I would say not to worry about messing up because in the end it will still look adorable. As you can see, my ghosts look completely different than the throw blanket photo I included which I used for reference. The jack-o-lantern in the background is another paint can I did and that one was done by masking out an area with a Cricut vinyl cutout , using crackle medium, then pulling off the sticker. I included a few photos of this one too. Once my paint can was empty I set it out in the driveway to dry up the rem...
